Lifting our voice in common cause.
The Root Cause Coalition brings a unique voice when engaging with leaders and lawmakers. Unlike the countless competing viewpoints fighting to be heard by elected officials, TRCC’s strength lies in a diverse membership that serves communities and individuals across several points along the care continuum. No one interest comes before our common goal of reconstructing a healthcare system that addresses the social determinants of health to achieve health equity.
To achieve this goal, TRCC as outlined an 8-Point Call to Action to Achieve by 2025. Our advocacy committee is deeply involved in developing TRCC’s policy agenda and selecting existing efforts for formal support.

Come to the Table Regional Summits
Come to the Table: Ending Hunger in America by 2030, held at The Carter Center on January 19, 2023 and hosted by The Root Cause Coalition and ProMedica in partnership with the USDA, was the first in a series of regional summits designed to bring together critically important local perspectives and elevate the voices of the community in discussing hunger as a health issue. Those who came to the table in Atlanta included individuals, organziations, and policy makers – all with deep roots in the Southeastern United States. These conversations, to be held throughout 2023 and early 2024 and in locations across the country, build on the momentum generated during and from the historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health in Washington, DC in September 2022.
